William Moss Dies Suddenly In Stellarton
New Glasgow- William Moss, a brakeman in the Canadian National Railways
yard in Stellarton died suddenly early this morning following a coronary
thrombosis. Mr. Moss had gone to work at 11 o'clock last night, feeling in
his usual good health. About two this morning, he felt unwell and Hedley
Roy, a co-worker in the yard, drove him down to New Glasgow in company with
Roland Vacheresse, to see a doctor. As they were driving him back to the
yard to get his car to return home he suffered the fatal attack near the
Allan Shaft.
Mr. Moss was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Moss of Stellarton and
had been employed by the CNR since 1940 as trainman and brakeman. Prior to
that he had been a coal miner. He was a member of Trinity United Church and
the Masonic Order in New Glasgow.
He is survived by his wife, the former Greta MacDougall of New Glasgow; a
daughter Marguerite at home; a son Robbie, stationed with the RCAF at
Greenwood and Halifax; two brothers, Harold on Westville Road and Francis in
Tatamagouche; two sisters, Mrs. Stewart Murdoch in Westville and Mrs. Bertha
Johnstone, a nurse in Bangor, Me.
The funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
